PENTART’s single-component crackle varnish lends a touch of antiquity to any surface, reminiscent of cracking paint. Use an acrylic paint on the surface to be decorated; once dry apply the crackle medium. Once the crackle medium has dried, paint the surface again with an acrylic paint of a different color than the original layer. The second layer of paint applied will crack as it is drying, thanks to the crackle varnish. The base colon applied initially will peek through the resulting cracks. The pattern of cracks depends on the thickness of the layers and on the technique used to apply the paint layers.
